Microbiology & Molecular Biology Training
This training provides practical guidance on method verification, validation and measurement uncertainty in microbiological testing, with particular focus on ISO 16140-3: 2021.The course will help laboratory personnel understand how to verify reference and validated alternative methods before they are introduced into routine testing. It will also cover the main principles of method validation, evaluation of microbiological test data, acceptance criteria and estimation of measurement uncertainty. The training is designed around practical laboratory situations, with examples and exercises that participants can relate to their own testing activities and quality systems.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants will learn how to:
· Understand the difference between method validation and verification.
· Verify qualitative (detection) and quantitative microbiological methods.
· Conduct implementation and food-item verification studies.
· Establish acceptance criteria and evaluate performance characteristics.
· Prepare verification plans, records, and reports for accreditation and audits.
